If you enjoy speaking to groups of people and want to help end hunger and poverty in our world then becoming a volunteer speaker for Self Help Africa is a great way to combine your talents with your passion.
As a small charity we rely on volunteer speakers to talk to local groups across the UK about our work. Plus it’s a great way to get more involved in your local community and meet new people.
How would I be helping?
Promoting our work by giving talks to groups in your area such as churches, schools, Rotary Clubs and Women’s Institutes.
Letting people know how they can support our work and about the crucial difference it can make.
Receiving donations following your talks
What skills do I need?
Confidence when speaking to a crowd and enthusiasm for telling people about our work. We will support you as much as we can and help you develop your confidence.
Reliable, committed, punctual and trustworthy.
Comfortable chatting to people after your talks.
What training will I receive?
Once you’ve applied, we will arrange a time for you to find out more about the role and get some training and information about what Self Help Africa does. It also gives us a chance to check the role will be suited to you. And we’ll equip you with plenty of information and resources to get you started.
